JP Morgan names new Hong Kong CEO

JP Morgan has appointed Kam Shing Kwang to lead Hong Kong, effective October 1, as Harshika Patel completes her term; Patel will continue as Apac CEO of JP Morgan Private Bank.

Global banking giant JP Morgan has appointed Kam Shing Kwang as CEO for Hong Kong, effective October 1, 2024, as Harshika Patel completes her term after three years, according to internal company memo seen by FinanceAsia.

Kwang, who is currently JP Morgan’s North Asia chairman, will oversee local governance, coordination, and controls, while continuing to foster employee and community engagement within our Hong Kong franchise. She will also continue her North Asia chairwoman role.

Upon the transition, Patel will continue in her other role as chief executive of JP Morgan Private Bank, Asia Pacific. Patel started the role late last year, replacing Kwang.
