SoftBank and OpenAI agree Japanese AI joint venture

SoftBank has said it will spend $3bn annually to deploy customised AI across its group of companies; the JV, known as SB OpenAI Japan, will sell to Japanese firms.

US aritificial intlligence AI giant OpenAI and Japanese invesment firm SoftBank Group have agreed to develop and market advanced enterprise artificial intelligence AI called Cristal intelligence’.

Cristal intelligence will integrate the systems and data of enterprises and is customised for individual companies in Japan, according to a February 3 media release.

SB OpenAI Japan, which will be 5050 owned by OpenAI and a company, established by SoftBank Group and SoftBank, will be consolidated to SoftBank.
