The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) plans to introduce licensing requirements for firms operating in stablecoins, by 2024.

The ex-UBS banker will be reunited with former colleague Mark Dowie who heads up the corporate finance business at Standard Chartered.

Burnett, who has spent more than 15 years with UBS in Asia, including a six-year stint as co-head of investment banking, rejoins the firm only days after Steven Barg's resignation as head of GCM.
